This past month has really seen our new premises, “Hope52”, taking off. We had wonderful times of prayer and worship, and many opportunities to both come alongside and connect with our neighbours. As we have listened to peoples’ stories, we have seen an openness to hearing about the God we serve; people are wanting to see who we are and what we have to offer. People have also been willing to join in, with one of our neighbours helping to build some of the furniture with us and then coming back later to join in Alpha!
Young Disciples is going well, with a couple of the young people already bringing friends along. So far we’ve had pizza, table tennis, lots of discussion and ice cream prayers, and are looking forward to using our new table football and getting deeper into God’s word.
Our Monday nights now include ‘Wonder and Worship’ before the Engine Room, a great time of worshipping together, soaking in the Spirit and engaging in new songs, before praying together for the community and Zac’s House.
“Renew52”, our wellbeing café is off to a steady start. Every Wednesday, between 10 and 12, Hope52 is open, café style, for people to come and have hot drinks, enjoy craft activities and quiet space, as well as the opportunity to join in the regular prayer times or talk with those hosting. It’s a real place of peace and calm, with no expectation of people, just to come and be and feel welcome.
This month, we look forward to hosting the Remembrance service at Anderton Boat Lift. We have established a strong relationship with the Canal & River Trust and have already worked together in the Light and Hope celebration that took place last February. Last month, we held one of our worship gatherings in the marquee there and it provided great opportunity to connect further with some of the community who came in to find out what was going on. We are also looking forward to partnering with them further in our wellbeing work, joining with them to provide regular wellbeing walks, which will link in with Renew52.
We are also looking forward to joining in with the town Christmas Extravaganza again this year on Saturday 23 November, why not come along?!
Please continue to pray for us as we stand with and reach out to the people of Northwich.
