KMC Weekly Newsletter — Friday 27th March

As we begin to come to terms with a very different world we give thanks for all the people working to keep our country going. We pray for those who are on the front line, for our Government that they have wisdom to make the right decisions at the right time and that as a nation we all follow their advice.

Please remember that clocks go forward by 1 hour this Sunday!

10am Sunday worship on our website

10.30am Please join us in ‘The KMC Coffee Lounge’ from the comfort of your own front room for a Zoom meeting ID 611 638 252 and password 098436 (Type in Zoom to your web browser to access this)

Later in the day, it is hoped to share in Zac’s House Kingdom Community fellowship at 4pm and a Sunday Night Live Reflection from Scott in the evening.

**The Church Office is now closed and will remain so until the lockdown is lifted. Amanda will continue to work usual hours, calls to the Church number have been diverted for the time being and will be answered wherever possible.

**Mean Beans Lunch: Huge thanks to all who contributed to Eve and Liz’s Mean Bean Challenge for Tearfund. With your generous help, we raised more than £1500 to pay for training in new, more effective agricultural practices. Still have a few beans left if anyone is short …. Liz Howden.

** Offerings to KMC over the coming weeks: As our services are temporarily suspended anyone wishing to donate to the Church may do so in the following ways:

a] Set up a standing order – Forms will be available in the entrance porch once completed please send to your Bank and not to us.

b] Make an online donation using bank details on the standing order form or request details from the Church Office. Please use your name as reference and Gift Aid can be claimed on these donations.

c] Cash/ Cheque Envelope offerings: Please do continue to use your offertory envelopes and consider keeping a note of what you would usually donate and giving as a lump sum when we are able to come back to Church.

An update from HOPE CENTRAL: The Welcome is no longer operating as a Cafe, but is now re-organised as a spacious Foodbank for Hope Central, which is badly needed as more people find themselves without paid work.

Which products to we need the most ?
We still need, as a PRIORITY: UHT milk, biscuits, tinned tomatoes, pot noodles and tinned pasta.

We “could do with” some more tinned veg, tinned fruit, juices and squash, cereal, tinned beans and pulses and instant mash.

We currently have enough tinned tuna and baked beans.

How do I donate ?
For the time being the Red Bins in the porches at KMC and St Johns will NOT be accessible.

Although The Welcome will be open (and can therefore accept donations) from 9am to 3pm on weekdays from now on, it is described as a “high contact area”, meaning that with so many active volunteers and community workers coming/going there, the risk of virus-transmission will exist (despite all the precautions they are taking). So if you do take food there, ONLY do so between 9am and 3pm Mon-Fri, and indicate to somebody inside that you are dropping your stuff just outside the door.

Therefore, we suggest that anyone wishing to donate to Hope Central continues to use the bins just inside the Co-op on Princess Street . As more red-bins become available for donations to Hope Central in Knutsford shops, we will keep you advised”.

p.s. If the above doesn’t answer your question about how to donate, please ring Chris Sloan.

Prayer themes for April

As a church family we come together to pray, wherever we are, for ourselves, our town, our nation and our world as we face the threat of the coronavirus. Protect those who are especially vulnerable and be present with any who feel alone.

May Christians here and worldwide this Easter, whatever their circumstances, remember Jesus’s death for each one of us and join in celebrating the hope given by His glorious resurrection. Amen
