About Young Church

Our worship begins in the Church with the rest of the Church Family but after a short while (usually after the collection) we leave for our own groups (preceded, on alternate weeks, by a short session of communal Young Church worship in the main hall). Our Aim To encourage children and young people to find a personal faith in the Lord Jesus. Our Methods We teach the basics of the Christian Faith, educate children in the teachings of the Bible, and introduce them to the Living Lord. We use attractive age-related teaching materials, lively praise and worship, drama, dance and other activities to ensure that all children have the chance to appreciate the challenges and joys of the Christian life. Our Organisation There are six classes, which relate broadly to school years:-

  • CRECHE: 0-3 year-olds led by Heather L and helpers.
  • BEGINNERS: 3-5 year-olds led by Carol F and helpers.
  • PRIMARY (5-7) & JUNIORS (7-11): two separate groups led by Mary Gracie and Dawn Freeman respectively.
  • SENIORS (11-14) & YOUNG PEOPLE (14-16): two separate groups led by Ben Williams with helpers' rota.

Promotion between the classes is once a year, in July. For more details please contact the Junior Church Superintendent, Andrew D.
