Hampers of Hope (September)
Hampers of Hope
As you know, KMC supports Hampers of Hope and food is collected week by week from donations placed in the red bins at the front and back entrances. Recently, due to lots of referrals, the cupboard was becoming quite bare.
Then one day I received a text from a lady whose daughter attends 1st Mobberley Brownies. The Brownies had recently held a sponsored assault course and instead of asking for money it was decided that one item of food should be donated for each lap achieved. The lady had received help from Hampers of Hope and as a way of giving something back, she suggested that the food should be given to the Charity. In all, the 16 Brownies 'raised' over 300 items, ranging from baked beans (lots of!) to toiletries. The cupboard is no longer bare!
However, the referrals continue to come and so there needs to be a continuous flow to help these families. If you are able to donate any groceries please put them in one of the red bins.
'Law of Supply. When supply seems to have failed, you must know that it has not done so. But you must look round to see what you can give away. Give away something'. (from 'God Calling', a devotional diary by A.J.Russell)
