Bexton Lane Housegroup
Group leader: Pete
Meets on two Tuesdays per month starting at 7.15pm.
The members of the Tuesday Bexton Lane House Group are on very different faith journeys but are bound together in fellowship, praying for one another.
Through lively discussions and respecting each other’s views, we gain insight into the meaning of a passage of scripture or ideas are sparked off by some other stimulus such as reading a book together. Our conversations are enhanced by sharing insights based on a wide variety of interpretations of the Christian faith.
On the first and third Tuesdays in the month 4 to 10 of us gather together from 19:15 onwards for a chat over a drink and delicious cake. We then spend some time in prayer (as the spirit leads) and about an hour discussing a Bible passage or a specific topic. Although we seldom manage to finish by 21:00 we are usually on our way home by 21:30. At the end of the meeting we are each invited to pass a prayer request to another member of the group who undertakes to include it in their prayers until the next meeting.
If there is a fifth Tuesday in the month, we “do something different” which enhances our fellowship together – usually including a shared meal. Past activities have ranged from book reviews to croquet, carol concerts to acting out parables. We are a friendly group who enjoy meeting new people, so why not try us out and see if we’re the group for you.
