...See, I have placed before you an open door that no-one can shut...” Rev 3:8

For our nation

·        Please pray that God would  open spiritual doors this year in the life of our nation that have been closed up till now, in all areas: political, economical, in the media, in our churches, etc.

·        For MP’s and prospective MP’s, as they prepare for this election year; remembering in particular the Christians in parliament and Dr Dave Landrum, the Bible Society’s Parliamentary Officer, who supports them. – Bible Society.

·        For the economy, and people who have been affected by the recession; that those worst-affected will be taken care of, and that people will turn to God for help: “The recession has woken people up slightly to the fact that things that are of real value are not measured financially.” (Credit Action) – Prayer Alert

·        For banks, that they will learn the lessons of the banking crisis of a year ago, and utilise their resources responsibly.

·        For revival; that the doors of people’s hearts and lives would be opened to God.

·        For the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, 17^th – 24^th January.

For our Churches

·        That the “bride of Christ” would fulfil her calling to be salt and light in a dark and tasteless world; that the churches would reach out into the communities which they are a part of.

·        For our church leaders; that God would anoint their leadership gifts; that they would seek to walk closely with the Lord and listen to His leading.

·        For all who preach the gospel – lay preachers, youth workers, junior church leaders, etc; that they would stay connected to the Lord, and remain faithful to Biblical truth.

·        For us all; that this year we would keep humble and teachable hearts; that God’s word would go deep within our hearts; and that we would enjoy a closer walk with the Lord.

·        For Alpha courses beginning in January, or those already in progress.

·        For churches who will be holding covenant services or similar in this area; that people would be willing to commit themselves afresh to the Lord, and to walk in His ways.

·        That others would turn to the Lord, and come to know Him.
