“We Will Build”

Wesley Cottage

2009 was the year we extended Wesley Cottage to become a fully-fledged manse.  Without this we would not have been able to recruit a third Minister, our new Superintendent, the Rev Jackie Betts.  The job was done to time and on budget - a credit to all involved.  2009 saw all the churches in the Circuit work together to raise the monies to pay for it; indeed nearly half of the cost of £85,000 has been raised, with loans of £44,000 covering the balance.

In 2010 we look forward to the same spirit around the Circuit in our efforts to raise the balance of the money.  The first event and hopefully the biggest is: -

It is not too late to offer more promises, as a supplementary list is already being collated.

Plans are already being made for more Circuit Events, namely Golf and Bowls competitions, but the small Fundraising Committee of 4 would appreciate help from individuals to join them and help spread the load.  In addition we ask Churches to organise their own events to enable us to pay off our loans as soon as possible.  Apart from the £41,000 we have raised in 2009 we have had a lot of fun and fellowship throughout the Circuit – may this continue into 2010.

Best wishes for a Happy and Prosperous and, above all, a Healthy New Year.

Michael Barker, Circuit Treasurer - 18th December 2009
