Members of the Methodist Church are encouraged to join House Groups. They provide fellowship, stimulating discussions and Bible study in an informal setting. If you are interested in joining a House Group please see the list towards the back of Open Doors.

The members of the Mereheath Lane House Group have been studying the 10 Commandments, using a modern take on this theme by the Rev. J. John.

The study starts with the 10th Commandment and works backwards.

The 9th commandment (‘Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour’) is re-interpreted as “Don’t lie”.

One of the practical suggestions that we should commit ourselves to is not to say something about another person unless it has passed the THINK test!

T Is it True?

H Is it Helpful?

I Is it Inspiring?

N Is it Necessary?

K Is it Kind?
