Ongoing Charitable Appeals
CHARITY-RIDE
Martin Jones, together with his cousin and two friends, will be cycling the Trans-Pennine Trail this weekend, in memory of his sister Alison and his aunt, both of whom sadly died earlier this year. The ride is sponsored, and they are hoping to raise money in aid jointly of Breast Cancer Care and the Alzheimer's Society. They are riding from Hornsea to Southport, a total of 215 miles, on and off-road, from 26th to 29th June. If you would like to support them, please visit www.charity-ride.co.uk or speak to Jane. Thank you.

“MIND THE GAP” ……. “FILL THE GAP” by Chris Sloan
Some of you will have heard the “Mind the Gap” announcements on the tube system in London. They help you to avoid falling into the gap between the platform and the carriages. In September our Church Council was warned by its Finance Committee to “Mind the Gap” between our income and our expenditure.
Christians Against Poverty
CHRISTIAN CONCERNS
By Daphne Barker
The whole world watches as the credit crisis unfolds. Headlines in newspapers, extended news programmes, comment and debate on emergency action and rescue packages send shivers of alarm around the world.
At this particular time may I draw your attention to a Christian charity attempting to help those caught up in a debt-trap with no way out?
Action for Children
ACTION speaks louder than words FOR CHILDREN who need us more than ever.
NCH is the children’s charity of the Methodist Church. It was founded in 1869 by Methodist minister Revd Thomas Bowman Stephenson in response to the poverty and danger faced by vulnerable and destitute children and young people living rough on the streets of London.
