| KMC Ramblers | Knutsford Methodist Ramblers walk normally on the third Wednesday morning of each month throughout the year. We tend to do short walks (up to 6 miles), mainly along field-paths and country lanes within easy reach of Knutsford, which we usually complete in time for a sociable lunch together afterwards. Our numbers vary between ten and twenty - and we are not speed merchants. As for age ..... |
| Monday Club | Monday Club is open to all ladies - from Knutsford Methodist Church and any friends they may wish to invite. | Alpha |
Would you be interested in exploring the Christian faith further through 'Alpha' or within Home Groups? Our current course (the third in our most recent series) started in January 2008. Those of us who have helped with Alpha never cease to be amazed how God breaks through into people's lives, revealing Jesus personally through the working of His Holy Spirit. |
| SENIOR CITIZEN’S LUNCHES | The lunches have proved very popular with the senior citizens in the area. We now provide a lunch on a Thursday as well. The cost is £3. |

| North Downs House Group | In its current format the group has been going since September 1999 with some members joining from Alpha groups. It was started as a result of our minister's, Paul's, suggestion that house groups are a valuable way to develop and share our faith. |

| Monday Afternoon Bible Class | The Monday Afternoon Bible Class is not strictly a house group as we meet in the Small Hall at Knutsford Methodist Church. Our meetings are held on the second and fourth Mondays of the month from 1.30pm to 3.00pm. The group was established at the beginning of 2001 to cater for the "leisured class" i.e. those who are not working on Monday afternoons. It is led by Bob B. There are about ten regular attendees, but anyone is welcome to come. |
| Mereheath Lane House Group | Mereheath Lane "after Alpha" group meets normally on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 8.00pm. We think we're a friendly group covering all ages and persuasions. We've enjoyed the format of discussing points linked broadly to the current themes of the Church's Services - but the strength of the group is in the different insights which each member brings. There's never an evening without lively discussion and warm fellowship. If Tuesday is your chosen night, give Jackie or Chris R, or Bud Foster, a call (via the Church Office), and come along. We enjoy having new members. |
| Tuesday Bexton Lane House Group | The Tuesday Bexton Lane group meets twice monthly on the first and third Tuesday in each month at 7.45pm. The group began as an Alpha course but has expanded and evolved since. Meetings include an informal Bible study and a time for prayer, both preceded and followed by coffee. |
| Wednesday Bexton Lane Bible Study | A Basic Bible Study Group. The aim is to study the Bible in a fairly simple or basic way, concentrating on Jesus and His teachings. The meetings start at 7.30pm and normally take place on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays in each month, as convenient to the members of the group |
| Grassfield Way Bible Study Group | The Grassfield Way House Group meets on every Thursday during term-time from 1.15pm to 3.00pm. It was established in the early 1980s and currently has a dozen or so members. The origins of this group actually go back even earlier, when women from St John's Anglican church invited women from Knutsford's Methodist Church (KMC) to join them for Bible study. The group evolved from this, meeting in various members' houses and has been held at Grassfield Way for some years now. The members are all women but this is probably due to husbands traditionally being at work. Currently the membership represents every decade from 20s to 90s and we very much value all the individual life-experiences. The wide age-range often produces interesting debate and exchange of views. We start with tea (and not infrequently some of Judy's scrumptious cakes) and exchange news and recall anyone known to be in need of prayer. At the present time the leadership is shared - members taking turns in leading the Bible Study. Everyone is encouraged to share in discussion and to consider the practical application of God's word in our lives and the relevance of the Bible today. Our aim is to grow spiritually in the knowledge and love of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and to become more effective witnesses in our daily lives through our actions and words. We are very supportive of each other and we share our joys and concerns. Prayers are said for persons or causes raised by members each week and a confidential telephone Prayer Chain has been operating for some years now. This can be activated by any member and is a source of great support when members receive bad news to know that the group is united in prayer at any time. We break off during school holidays, and at the end of each "term" we invite friends, neighbours or relatives who we think would enjoy the fellowship of such an afternoon when members bring a poem, favourite Bible reading or a piece of music. We welcome you to "give us a try" without obligation if you think you might like to spend Thursday afternoons in this way. If transport is a problem we may be able to help. |
