Ever since I can remember I have been going to church and regularly attending Sunday school.  When I was about 15 we had a visit from a delegation of students from Cliff College; it was a wonderful fortnight when all sorts of exciting things happened, not least of all when my friend Linda and I decided to make a real commitment to Jesus and actually started preaching in our small country Circuit.  I remember on one occasion when we visited a small rural church (Linda used to sing and I played the organ).  The organ in this church was one which operated by pumping two foot pedals up and down; this was all very well if you remembered to both, play and pump at the same time, but, needless to say, I forgot and a gasping groan came from the organ.  In spite of all this the congregation was very kind and supportive and we were both given a great deal of encouragement with our preaching.
